Summary of role:

The Software Engineer is responsible for the creation, further development and troubleshooting of the application assigned to the role. Responsibility for the acceptance, review and implementation of Change Request as well as other assignments in the area of software development. Furthermore, the Troubleshooting in the sense of 3rd Level Support, the necessary OS-Scripting for the purpose of running the applications and all the aspects mentioned also refer to the entire spectrum of database design and database programming.

Key responsibilities:

Software Development & Life Cycle Management (mainly UNO)

  • Receiving, checking and implementing change requests
  • Release & version management in the sense of the UNO team's priorities and priorities
  • Packageing & rolling out new UN versions for the various UNO hosting environment
  • Documentation of adjustments and writing of instructions
  • Organization of the development work with the software development process tool JIRA
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the international team of UNO developers
  • Source code management in TFS or Bitbucket
  • Quality assurance & testing against staging and test system.

Database programming (UNO)

  • Check, modify, delete and develop triggers and stored procedures that are related to the requirements of the UNO application.
  • Check, modify, delete and develop referential integrity (PK / FK / AK) that are related to the requirements for the UNO application.
  • Check, modify, delete, and develop database fields, database tables, synonyms, views, check contraints, and indexes related to the requirements for the UNO application.
  • Prepare the DELTA-SQL commands for the purposes of versioning with the deployment
  • Quality assurance & testing against staging and test system.

3rd Level Support (UNO)

  • Acceptance, verification and resolution of errors in the UNO system
  • Collaboration in the identification & cause of errors in the UNO system
  • Proactive error prevention
  • Documentation of fault situations and their elimination

Communication (UNO)

  • Intensive communication with the international UNO development team for the purpose of programming coordination.
  • Intensive communication with the international UNO management team (business, testing, countries)

Technical UNO data management

  • Import and export UNO databases
  • Volume and performance management in interaction with hardware, OS, DB configuration and data logic
  • Technical-logical data management within the database
  • User and rights management in database for access control

Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours required: 

  • Completed school or university education in the area of software development or comparable training.
  • Excellent knowledge of C ++ or Borland C ++
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL & database programming
  • Knowledge in Informix database systems
  • Proven experience in C ++ programming
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and database programming: Triggers, Stored Procedures,
  • Referential integrity, Scripting, Views, synonyms, DB user owner & rights, SQL programming at a low level
  • Excellent knowledge of C ++ / Borland C ++
  • Knowledge in Informix database systems
  • Knowledge of the development process of large international software applications
  • Good handling of text editors
  • Good handling of software project planning tools
  • Knowledge MS Windows & MS Office
  • Knowledge in MSSQL
  • Knowledge in C # .NET / ASP.NET
  • Knowledge in ETL and TALEND
  • Working in an international virtual team
